Sea-me Sea Trials
Monday 02 July 2001

During recent trials conducted at QinetiQ (formerly DERA) Fraser by the Trinity House Lighthouse Service and the RNLI, Sea-me was fitted to an Atlantic75 RIB inshore lifeboat. The antenna unit was less than 2m above the water. The lifeboat moved away from Fraser and was easily visible on radar when it was beyond the Nab Tower, over 8nm away, at which point the lifeboat had to leave the trial. We are confident that it would still have been visible at greater ranges had the lifeboat been able to stay on the trial.
