Around Alone Yachts use Sea-me Monday 9 December 2002 Several of the yachts competing in the Around Alone Race have fitted the Sea-me Radar Target Enhancer. Emma Richards, the sole British competitor who is doing so well on Pindar, is one of these. Sea-me is of great benefit to single handers as not only does it improve the probability that they will be detected on radar but also it alerts them when they have been struck by an incoming radar pulse. This ship detection capability is of course a boon to those who must grab a small bit of sleep when they can.
