Just read the YM article you refer to and yes I agree - fitting Sea-Me was a good decision. I radio 2 ships while crossing the Caribbean Sea from St Kitts to Curacao and both said while the Sea-Me was on they could see me on their X-band radars at 10 miles but only 3 miles with the Sea-Me switched off.
