| German customers - Segeln Magazine |
 |
Saturday 03 March 2007
A message for our German friends.
Segeln magazine reported on a radar reflector trila they had carried out in the Okt 2006 issue. The magazine tested 7 reflectors and its conclusion was that active reflectors are far superior to any passive reflector they tried. Indeed not one of the passives they tested gave a return at 4.5 n miles (only 13.5 minutes for a ship going 20 knots) whereas Sea-me was giving a "sehr deutliches Echo" (very conspicuous echo) at the longest range they used, 6.5 n miles.
This article reconfirms the folly of buying cheap. |
